I am a big fan of WWE and Brock Lesnar was my favorite. All of a sudden Brock vanished from WWE and I heard that he is into some other sports. Yesterday, I was simply searching for MMA images and luckily I found Brock's video. I never knew that he went to the mixed marital arts and yes, that's the perfect sport he should be doing. WWE is not what Brock is all about. He is a real fighter and has been dominating the world of mixed marital arts scene at present.

Euro 2008 Semi-Finals

The big names in the world of football like Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Croatia and France were not able to make it to the semifinal. The biggest surprise package was Turkey in this Eruo 2008. The match was filled with drama. No teams could produce a single goal in the regular time and the match was elongated to 30 minutes of more play. In the dying minutes of the second half of the added time, Croatia scored a goal which seemed to be an assurance for them for a sit in the semi-final. Turkey came back strong with an equalizer in the added time of the extra time. Then was the time for the keepers to come into play. The Croatian strikers could not score from the spot and Turkish keeper Rustu saved the crucial forth Croatian spot kick and thus booked a place in the semifinal. They will play one of the powerhouses Germany.

The other semi finalists are Spain which is now the strongest contender for lifting the cup and another surprise Russia. Mind you, Guss Hiddink is behind Russia who led Netherlands to the semifinal in the world cup in 2000 and in the next world cup he led Korea to the semi final. He is a very strong influence in the world of football. We can’t ignore Russia in this tournament as well however they will be facing Spain which has already thrashed them 4-1 in the preliminary round.

The first semifinal features Germany against Turkey tonight as the Euphoria is almost coming to conclusion. I now strongly back Spain as they have been rated as the team which is unable to make an impression in big tournaments inspite of being such a huge footballing nation.

Euro 2008

Euro 2008 has been a bit of disappointing one for me. The absence of England in the tournament has struck Euro 2008 very hard. Such a good team not making to the Euro 2008 Finals has saddened not only the English fans but many football fans around the world. Now that the English Premier League has ended, I am missing Rooney, Ferdinand, Terry, James in the ongoing Euro 2008. Nonetheless, I have now totally indulged myself in the second biggest football tournament as the first round is underway.

Holland is one of the best sides which can possibly lift the title. With a very good lineup, they are always a nightmare for oppositions. The team consists of big names in football like Van Persie, Van Nistolroy, Van Der Sar, Kyut, Roben to name some and they are equally talented. This side is one of the most promising title chaser in this Euro 2008.

Germany as always is a very good team in Europe. With the likes of Lehman, Klose, Ballack, Germany is one of the favorites in the tournament. The Croatian performance was really weird. Such a strong team, the way they acted in the pitch was pathetic. They are capable of creating chances and converting those chances into goals but they did not. So Croatia being a strong team is not a probable title holder.

One of the strongest team which has a lot of footballing history is Spain. They are always a great team but haven’t been able to make an impression in the past few years. In the last World Cup, I had thought of Spain at least making it to the finals but sadly they did not. But this time around who knows, Spain could life the Euro 2008 trophy. Watching their first match against Russia, I felt that they need to work a bit harder in their defense. Their attacking line up is lethal with David Villa and the man in form Fernando Torres they are sure to score goals in every match. The way Fernando Torres played against Russia was outstanding. The first goal was scored in his assistance and in the later part of the match he created some chances too. So as far as my prediction goes, I bank on Spain.

At last, football is football and nothing can be predicted. The teams so termed as underdogs can never be underestimated because they are playing in this tournament after their respective qualifying rounds. All in all the Euro 2008 is underway and I stay awake late for all the matches despite my favorite team could not make it to the Finals.

Manchester United Wins 2008 Premier League Title

Manchester United is yet again the champion. By beating Wigan Athletic with two goals to nil, Manchester United won their seventeenth league title and ten under Sir Alex Fergusson as the manager. On the other side Chelsea too had a very good chance of being the champion but Manchester United had to lose their final match against Wigan which thankfully did not happen.

Chelsea played against Bolton Wanderers and only managed to draw a single point which was not enough for them to hold the title. I was watching the live telecast of Chelsea against Bolton and before the end of the first half no teams could score a goal. On the other hand Manchester United had already gone up against Wigan in the first half. I was feeling the pressure as the score of one nil in the first half could never be regarded as an assurance for a victory. The cable channel too was updating with live scores of other matches being played. Suddenly Manchester United’s second goal was scrolling which was when I was relieved. Chelsea however had taken the lead but when time was running out, Bolton scored an equalizer. So this was the moment when I jumped in joy because Chelsea did not have enough time to beat Bolton and there was very less chance of Manchester United being beaten by Wigan. This is how Manchester United achieved their seventeenth league title.

Now Manchester United is just a win away from another title of the season. On 21^st of May, Manchester United will be playing against Chelsea for the UEFA Champions league Championship.

The premier league came to an end. The match which was totally out of the blue was the match between Middlesbrough and Manchester City. Middlesbrough thrashed Manchester United to an 8-1 victory over Manchester United.

10000 BC, A Nonsense Movie

The most hyped movie yet the worst as far as I am concerned is “10,000 BC”. This is in fact the greatest annoying movie of all time. It can be regarded as a hilarious movie rather than an action movie. I never expected the director of Independence Day come up with such a funny movie. Independence Day is a good movie.

I don’t see the whole movie as a total crap but most of the film is baseless. So far the imaginary 10000 BC could have had happened and after all it’s a movie, it is acceptable. The technical aspect is praiseworthy, but the script is nonsense. In one of the scenes, where D’Leh falls into a large ditch where there had been a tiger trapped is an embarrassing scene. The ditch slowly fills with water and the tiger then is trapped to death. Upon seeing this D’Leh gets into dire straits whether to kill it or help it. Before he finally decides to free the tiger, he says to the tiger, “Don’t eat me after I release you”. This dialogue could have been eliminated from the script.

This movie is however based on a love story which is another worse aspect. Just to save his love Evolet, D’Leh faces all the troubles. In the end too, Evolet is killed but again comes back into life. Uff, it is weird and Warner Brothers coming up with such movie is idiocy. And most importantly, the English accent of the characters is worst. Where is the movie based upon? Everything is a disaster. 10000 BC is a terrible bad mark in Hollywood movies. Those who haven’t watched this movie, I strongly suggest you to take a long nap rather than watching this one. A nap is thousand times better than a couple of hours of watching this nonsense movie.

Seraphim Falls

After a long time I got some free time to watch a classic movie. Pierce Brosnan stars in this movie called “Seraphim Falls”. I always have a weird feeling while watching movies of favoring the characters playing the negative rolls. Such negative characters are always punished at the end of the movie. But, in this particular movie, Colonel Morsman played by Liam Nesson is shown as a negative character in the starting. Morsman is in pursuit of Gideon played by Pierce Brosnan seeking revenge. This, Morsman character has definitely some reasons behind which makes him a blood thirst because he gets his wife and kids burned inside his house because of a small but terrible mistake of the Gideon crew. However Gideon is also not guilty but he had been the commander in chief when that incident broke out.

The whole movie is about chasing Gideon but to no avail. When these two guys meet face to face in a desert, Morsman gives all what it takes to kill Gideon but is unable to take his revenge. Both of them are not wrong for what they are doing and what they have done but Morsman is the righteous person.

At last Morsman gives up his avenge as he too could have died. And finally they both walk away from each other.

This is a classic movie and the story is nice as well. Each and every aspect of this movie is just great.

Bagh Chaal

The literal meaning of Bagh Chal is tiger’s move. One of the most popular games which is originated in Nepal is Bagh Chal. It is basically a strategic board game which is played between two players. The rules are simple and it doesn’t need any special pieces like we need in chess or snakes and ladders.

One of the two players plays the tiger and other one plays sheep. There are four tigers and twenty sheep. The main object for the tiger is to jump over a goat and kill it and for the sheep, the main goal is to trap the tiger. If a tiger is able to jump over a sheep, then the sheep is dead. But while jumping over a sheep, the tiger has to follow a straight line and can jump only over a single sheep at a time. The movement of both the tiger and the sheep is just one step to an intersection of the lines. When five sheep are dead the tiger is the winner. And if all the four tigers have nowhere to move when the sheep has blocked their way, the sheep would be the winner. The movement of either the tiger or the sheep is only one step from one intersection to the other.

This picture is a perfect example of tiger losing the game. The big black dots represent tigers and the small blue dots represent sheep. All the intersections are filled leaving only one spot. The tiger has no space for any movement and thus the sheep is the winner here.

This bagh chal is a very strategic game and a lot of concentration is necessary. This board game is also very cheap as twenty small pebbles can be taken as sheep and slightly bigger pebbles can be taken as tigers. Though this game is not very popular in the urban areas of Nepal, it is the most popular form of recreation in the rural areas of Nepal.

Newest Album In My Collection

While everyone was having fun and enjoying New Year ’s Day, I was indulged in my own kind of fun. Usually on every New Year’s Day I visit Budhanilkantha temple and this time around I did not. I tried to change the way I welcome a new year. I decided to listen to songs for the whole day without going anywhere outside as it was an off day and I couldn’t figure anything else than to listen to music.

The first one I started with was the newest album I had in my collection and I will be talking about that very album only. It was the greatest hits of Six Feet Under. I did not find it as hard as other death metal bands. The whole album consists of song without any double bass in drum which is sad to me. The guitar riffs are great and so is the vocal and the only thing that lacked in this album was songs with double bass drumming. The lyrics are good and the one called “Amerika the brutal” shows a lot of frustration and anger against America’s current policies of invading Afghanistan and Iraq. The other one called “Anti police” is also a great one. The one I liked the most is called “Rock N Roll ain’t noise pollution”, however I am not sure if it’s a covered version or was it Six Feet Under’s original composition because I have heard ACDC sung it before. Nevertheless this number is great and the growling vocal suits the song and melody to the maximum.

I did not like this album very much but it’s worth listening after all Six Feet Under is one of the most popular bands in their genre.

Alter Bridge : One Day Remains

I had been a Creed fan since it came up with a hit called "With Arms Wide Open". In an instant I started listening to Creed. The third and the final album by Creed was "Weathered" which went hit and was listed among the top selling album. Among the number of songs in that album, "my sacrifice" was a huge hit though other numbers like "stand here with me" and "one last breathe" too did quite well. After "Weathered" Creed vanished like nothing.

The band members leaving the lead vocalist Scott Stapp formed "Alter Bridge". Their first album "One day remains" did not do well commercially, but for me it was a good album. I was always fascinated by Mark Tremonti's guitar playing and this album wasn't disappointing one.

I am really having the worst of times right now and nothing is working my way. I really felt quite refreshed after going through this album. The lyrics are quite inspiring and the guitar riffs are just great. The vocalist is good and suits the music and melody which they compose and play. The songs like "metalingus", "burn it down", "down to my last" and "open your eyes" are the numbers which I liked most. The rest of the songs are good as well which are composed very beautifully.

The album might not have done very good in the top charts but it's one of the best albums that I have heard in recent times.

David Blaine And Chris Angel

I had watched some shows in television of David Blaine. He is a total magician and freaks everyone for the first time. The way he talks, walks and behaves seems too abnormal but the tricks he shows is outstanding. Standing on the top of a beam or sitting inside ice cube for days were the centre of attraction but for me the tricks he showed with cards were fabulous. Biting a coin into two halves, pulling wing of a chicken, lifting his body high off the ground were simply mind blowing.

Is he for real? Is this all real? I had to believe all what I saw on television. Because whatever he did, he did in the streets and there were no cheatings. The first time I saw him showing his magic on television, I never believed that such black magic still existed. With excitement and astonishment, I was continuously laughing and could not help myself any my friends as well. Everyone was laughing in amazement. I even called some of my friends to watch that channel to see unbelievable magic.

I don’t know any further about David Blaine right now as I don’t watch television like the way I used to watch. It was only yesterday, similar magician shocked me. It was Chris Angel. The only thing what I managed to see on television was, he sat on a car, sped up and the car simply vanished in the air. There was nothing, no lighting effects, no curtains and nothing, but he simply vanished along with the car. Uff it was unbelievable. It was replayed more than twice and there was no cheating and the car simply vanished. What in hell was that? I couldn’t believe my eyes and the people gathered in that site too didn’t believe themselves what they saw. Are these guys for real? Are they from the same place that were are from? I was totally freaked out.

Wherever they are from, these guys David Blaine and Chris Angels are superb magicians. I have to admit that they have some kind of inhumane power. Next time when you hear about them, do not miss out their shows on television.
